It is revealed by the brand’s Beverly Hills dealership in the US rather than the manufacturer itself.
- McLaren Sabre is made only for the US Market
- Powered by a twin-turbo V8 making 835HP and 800Nm of torque
- Limited run of only 15 bespoke units will be ever made
- Extensive use of carbon fibre and LMP1 design influence
McLaren Sabre Design features and Aerodynamics
The McLaren Sabre is based on the track-oriented McLaren Senna model which is already a very fast and ruthless machine, the Sabre gets extensive body modifications to give it a unique design that is enabled by relatively lax homologation requirements in the US. The Sabre’s aero package is much more efficient and effective than other McLaren models with the aim to achieve new limits as its inspired by LMP1 race cars and gets similarly styled fin running from the centre of the roof which connects with the three-slated rear wing and then there is the giant rear diffuser. Even the taillights are integrated in the rear wing. The front similarly has an aggressive front splitter and the hood is seemed to be inspired from the company’s GT3 race cars and the aero components continues along the sides as you can see those side skirts.
It is said that each car has got bespoke drive dynamics and all the calibrations are made as per the owner’s requirements during the prototype track test which happened earlier. The first car with Chassis No. 1 is delivered and the price has not been disclosed yet, the other 14 Sabres will be delivered to their respective owners in the coming weeks.
McLaren Sabre Powertrain Specs and performance
As McLaren has not yet provided much technical details about their new Hypercar Sabre, so we cannot say much in details either but it is known that the Sabre is powered by a highly-tuned version of their 4.0L twin-turbo V8 petrol making 835HP and 800Nm of torque. The power output is precisely up by 35HP than what it makes in the Senna. However, the torque figure remains the same. All that power goes to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Sabre is more about track performance rather than top-speed run however with all that power it’s expected to have a top speed of 315KPH making it the fastest two-seater hypercar from the brand. No doubt the McLaren Sabre is the most powerful non-hybrid Mclaren and the most aggressive road-legal Mclaren to date.
McLaren India entry
Since the Sabre is only made for the US it is never going to come to India or anywhere else in the world. Also, McLaren has not yet entered the Indian market but it’s working on making an Indian presence with the first showroom at Mumbai, India by late 2021. Excited to see McLaren bring those fire breathing cars to India then let us know it below.
