New Ford Bronco SUV Revealed

  • Ford Bronco launched as a sub-brand and not a single model.

  • Three models are launched, the Flagship Ford Bronco to get 2-door and 4-door Body Style.  

Ford has revealed the legendary Bronco SUV under the Ford Bronco Sub-Brand with not just in a single model but three different Retro looking SUVs and it’s already proving to be a hit for the North American Market before its sale in 2021 and there is no plan as of now to launch it worldwide.

New Ford Bronco: Overview

After two decades the Iconic Bronco name has come to the auto world taking styling cues from its predecessor. It’s got retro styling, innovative technologies and great off-road capabilities. But some people may not like it because of the absence of a V-8 engine unlike its predecessor from the 60s. But its offered with manual transmission and removable doors that can’t be ignored.

Like its predecessor, the Flagship Bronco will be offered in two-door and four-door variants with the body on frame chassis like how a proper offroader should be.

The Ford Bronco 4-door measures 4,839mm in length, 1,939mm in width and wheelbase is 2,949mm. It will have 292mm of ground clearance, an 851mm water fording capability, a maximum break-over angle of 29 degrees and a departure angle of 37.2 degrees, that makes it a very serious offroader. The 2-door is slightly smaller, measuring 4,412mm in length, with a 2,550mm long wheelbase.

New Ford Bronco: Bodytypes and Interiors

The two-door Bronco comes with a removable three-section hardtop roof while the four-door Bronco comes with a hardtop or a soft-top option with four removable sections. Both the SUV’s features removable doors for full off-road fun.

The interior features both retro and modern styling cues come with a range of customization options and rubberized floors for easy cleaning. The infotainment system features an 8″ or 12″ touch screen with Ford’s latest Sync4 system that has OTA update capabilities, real-time Navigation, B&O stereo and 360-degree cameras so you don’t need to worry while you’re offroading without any spotter.

 

New Ford Bronco: Engines

Under the hood the Bronco is offered with two EcoBoost turbocharged engine options. The standard option being the 2.3 litres 4 cylinder engine producing 270 horsepower and 420NM and the other one being the 2.7 litres V6 producing 310 horsepower and 543 NM of torque. 

New Ford Bronco is either offered with a 7-speed manual transmission with crawler gear or a 10-speed automatic gear.

New Ford Bronco: 4X4 Features

The New Ford Bronco will be offered with two different 4X4 systems. One will the be standard Electronic-Shift-On-Fly two-speed transfer case and another one being the two-speed Electromechanical transfer case with on-demand 2H and 4H.

Other equipment options include 35-inch mud-terrain tires, Beadlock-capable wheels, electronic locking front and rear differentials, long-travel dampers, and a sway-bar-disconnect feature just like its rival Jeep Wrangler.

New Ford Bronco: Trims and prices

New Ford bronco is offered in 7 trim levels with the base model starting at around $29,995 which is equivalent to Rs 24 lakh INR and will go up to $60,800 (Rs 45,49,694.40 INR) for the top trim version First edition.

New Ford Bronco: Availability in India

The new Ford Bronco initially be launched and sold only in the North American market and then follow to the rest of the world. But its key rival the Jeep Wrangler is available in India as of now. But the Bronco can make a great success in India like the Mustang. 

Ford along with Mahindra working not on one but two new SUVs for the Indian market also with the reveal of the Bronco Sport SUV which looks like a key rival to Jeep Compass it is known that ss of now, Ford is working on a premium SUV based on the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 and a mid-size SUV to rival the Hyundai Creta, based on Ford’s own ‘B’ platform.
