Hyundai certainly wants to confuse buyers by offering so many versions and options for the new i20. But let me guide you in a simple and detailed way what Hyundai has to offer with the new premium hatchback. In terms of engine, there are three options – a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol motor, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol and of course a 1.5-litre diesel motor.

Now in terms of gearbox options, the new Hyundai i20 will be offered with four gearboxes to choose from. There will be a manual gearbox, an iMT gearbox (intelligent manual transmission), iVT (which is basically a CVT) and a Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). Manual gearbox is available with both the 1.2 petrol engine and 1.5 diesel engine, while the 1.0-litre turbo petrol gets the option for both intelligent manual transmission (iMT) and Dual Clutch Transmission. Both the petrol engines will get option for an automatic transmission, the 1.2-lire petrol engine will also come with Hyundai’s iVT gearbox (CVT gearbox) while the 1.0 litre turbo petrol gets DCT transmission as an automatic gearbox. As of now the diesel version of New 2020 Hyundai i20 will come with only manual gearbox as an option.

The new Hyundai i20 variants will be offered in four trims- Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta(O)*. The base Magna trim will be offerred with only 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.5 litre diesel engine with manual gearbox only. The choice for different engine and gearbox combination starts with the Sportz trim. The Sportz trim gets all the Three engine options along with combination of manual gearbox, CVT, iMT and also DCT.

It is loaded with many options what a premium hatchback should offer (features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, digital instrument cluster, a Bose sound system, sunroof and Hyundai BlueLink), the Asta (O) will be offered with all three engine options but will come with only manual and DCT gearbox.

The new Hyundai i20 gets eight paint options along with dua-tone paint scheme. The two dual-tone paint combination – red and black; white and black is available with all the trim levels except the base Magna trim.
