Mahindra has announced today about its upcoming 7-seater SUV code-named W601 will be named the Mahindra XUV700, the all-new SUV will be manufactured at Mahindra’s Chakan facility in Pune, Maharashtra, and will be launched most probably by end of 2021.
The XUV700 will be the successor to the current XUV500 and also confirmed that the current XUV500 will be sold alongside the new SUV. With lots of O’s there let’s explain to you everything about the new Mahindra XUV700 and what it has to offer
- Code-named the W601 SUV will be called Mahindra XUV700
- It will be sold alongside the current-gen XUV500
- The new SUV will feature a monocoque body structure and will be bigger than its successor XUV500

Mahindra XUV700 Details
The Mahindra XUV700 is based on a new more stiff W601 monocoque platform and it will be longer and wider than the XUV500. Mahindra has also confirmed that the SUV will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines along with an automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive variant.
Mahindra has also hinted about some features and technology offered in the upcoming SUV in their video which is posted below, Mahindra has also mentioned that the XUV700 is built on an all-new global SUV platform, W601 with experts from around the world and will also gets some first-in-segment technologies and features.
Mahindra XUV700 other features to be considered
With spy shots of the new SUV circling over the internet it has suggested that the upcoming XUV700 will have design ques that will resemble the XUV500 but there are many new elements that will makes both the SUVs different in terms of styling. The images have also confirmed that the SUV will get segment-first Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a large panoramic sunroof and two large horizontal screens one for infotainment and other for instrument cluster respectively
Engine options may include 2.2L turbo-diesel and 2.0L turbo-petrol engines which will be derived from Mahindra Thar and will be tuned to make more power, both the engines with have option for 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearbox options which are equipped in the Mahindra Thar.
