Lamborghini Essenza SCV12- Specifications
The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is equipped with the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 engine ever made by the brand. The engine is able to deliver over 820 hp, thanks to the RAM air intake at high speeds. The exhaust pipes are specially designed by Capristo to reduce the back pressure, for improved performance and to produce the unique sound of the motor. Unlike other Lamborghini Hypercars, all the power is sent to the rear wheels and is handled by a new X-trac sequential six-speed gearbox which also acts as a structural component of the chassis that provides to compactness, structural continuity, and greater torsional stiffness.
Design and Aerodynamics
The Essenza SCV12 is a track-focused car so the aero kit is unlike any other Lamborghini Hypercar. Equipped with an aggressive front splitter and an adjustable massive carbon fiber rear wing. Together with all the aerodynamics, Lamborghini claims that it can produce a downforce of 1200kg at 250 kmph, which is higher than a GT3 car.
Lamborghini also said the Essenza SCV12 features an exceptional power-to-weight ratio of 1.66 hp/kg which was achieved with a new-generation carbon fiber monocoque chassis without internal rollcage. It is also the first GT car developed keeping in mind FIA prototype safety rules.
The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 achieves agility and stability with technology adopted from racing prototypes like the push-rod rear suspension installed directly on the gearbox. Braking duties are handled with Brembo monoblock calipers with carbon-ceramic discs. All these are completed with bespoke Pirelli tires mounted on magnesium rims (19” front, 20” rear) so that the driver can have maximum attack power on the track.
Lamborghini said the bodywork is formed by only three elements to enable quick replacement if necessary during pit stops.
All the typical Lamborghini design elements, like the hexagon that characterizes the front headlights and taillights, and the roof airscoop and air vents that frame the steering wheel and also lots of Y’s can be seen all around the car.
The multifunction steering wheel with the display was inspired by F1 single-seater steering wheels while the specific FIA homologated OMP seat with carbon shell embraces the driver to ensure comfort, safety and stability.
Those lucky 40 people who will own the Essenza SCV12 will become part of an exclusive club that gives them access to drive their hypercar FIA homologated circuits around the world. The car will be maintained by Lamborghini Squadra Corse and owners can just arrive and drive in their cars. Assistance will be provided Lamborghini Racing technical staff with the support of Emanuele Pirro, five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Marco Mapelli, Lamborghini Squadra Corse Factory Driver.
