The Citroen C5 Aircross SUV is launched in India today at an introductory price of Rs 29.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The C5 Aircross flagship SUV is Citroen’s first car for the Indian market, though it was expected to launch last year, the launch was pushed back as for the growing pandemic situation. Citroen India commenced the bookings for the SUV last month with first customers who booked by April 6 were able to get a complimentary 5-year maintenance package. Right now there are 10 La Maison dealers across India from where the C5 Aircross will be sold.

- It gets a single engine option, a 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel making 177HP and 400Nm of torque

Citroen C5 Aircross Launched Variants
As mentioned before by us during its reveal, the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV is available in only two variants – Feel and Shine. The Feel variant is available with both single-tone and dual-tone colour scheme and are priced at Rs 29.90 lakh and Rs 30.40 lakh respectively, but the higher-spec Shine variant for both single- and dual-tone variants are priced at Rs 31.90 lakh.
Now coming to the variants details, the entry spec C5 Aircross Feel gets lots of standard equipment and kit including which includes features like auto wipers and headlamps(not LED), large 18″ alloy wheels, 12.3″ digital instrument cluster, an 8.0″ touchscreen infotainment, powered driver seat, automatic dual-zone climate control and tones of safety features like parking assistant, 6 airbags, ESC and traction control to name a few. While the Fully loaded Shine variant gets add-ons like full LED headlights, panoramic sunroof and an automatic hands-free tailgate. For in-depth details about the variants read here.
The Citroen C5 Aircross SUV is offered with choice of seven colours which includes three single-tone and four dual-tone combinations. The colour options are Pearl White (single and dual tone), Cumulus Grey (single and dual tone), Tijuca Blue (single and dual tone), and Perla Nera Black. The white coloured SUV also gets orange coloured exterior body accents while others gets silver finished accents.
C5 Aircross Powertrain and Specs
While the international spec C5 Aircross is available with both petrol and diesel engines, the India-spec C5 Aircross is offered with only a single 2.0L turbo-diesel engine which makes 177HP and an impressive 400NM of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox that drives only the front wheels. Yes the Citroen C5 Aircross is a front-wheel-drive SUV. While the fuel economy is rated at 18.6kpl.
The C5 also gets Citroen’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension system that is claimed that it filters almost every bumps in the roads and provide its occupants best in class ride and comfort.
Citroen C5 Aircross Competition in India
The C5 Aircross with starting price of Rs 29.90 Lakh is expensive than its directs rivals and even the Entry-level Feel variant is priced more than the fully-loaded 4×4 diesel variants of Hyundai Tucson* (Rs 24.60-27.33 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Jeep Compass* (Rs 18.69-28.29 lakh, ex-showroom, India). This makes C5 Aircross to come in the price bracket of the VW Tiguan which will soon be revealed. The Citroen has currently 10 La Maison dealerships across India and C5 Aircross will be retailed from there. The SUV can also be purchased online on the Citroen India website.
