BMW cars have launched the BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition SUV today and in India, it is priced at Rs 2.02 Crore ex-showroom. Limited to just 500 units worldwide, this exclusive BMW SUV will be sold only via BMW Online Shop.

BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition Exterior Details
The BMW X7 Dark Shadow is based on the top-spec BMW X7 SUV so the exterior design is similar. The major difference is the use of a darker paint scheme. The X7 Dark Shadow comes in a special Frozen Arctic Grey metallic paint from BMW Individual (can get as an option on the regular X7), this paint was never used on any X Series of BMW before. The paint is complimented by M Sport body components like a gloss black chrome kidney grille, roof rails, and gloss black tailpipes. The Dark Shadow with the extra price comes with BMW Laser headlights and sits on 22-inch M sport light-weight wheels and comes with M-Sport exhaust as standard.
The interior also gets a darker theme and is finished in black or dark blue Merino leather all over with piano black and aluminium inserts on the dashboard, doors, and centre console. Then there is the Alcantara roof liner, Nappa leather on the upper part of the instrument panel and door armrests, while Black Merino Leather lower section of the dashboard and on the front seats backrests. Then there is the M leather-wrapped Steering wheel and the centre console where Dark Shadow written to make sure just in case.
On the equipment front, it also gets a sky lounge panoramic sunroof that features 15,000 LEDs and lights up with the colour of the ambient lighting. Some more interior equipment includes front seats with active ventilation, 5-zone automatic climate control, soft close doors, HUD, 360 parking camera, 12.3″ digital instrument display, 12.3″ touchscreen, gesture control, wireless smartphone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto, 3D Navigation system and there is the 16 speakers Harman Kardon surround-sound audio system, parking assistance, adaptive radar-based cruise control with lane changing to name a few.
BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Engine and gearbox details
India bound BMW X7 Dark Shadow with the M50d badge means that it’s a diesel-powered SUV and comes equipped with a 3.0L, in-line six-cylinder, quad-turbo diesel engine 400HP and 760Nm of torque. It comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that powers all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive system and a BMW M Sport differential, that comes with an automatic differential lock and braking. Then there is the M Sport quad Exhaust system that makes quite an exhaust note. This helps the huge SUV to go from 0-100Kph in just 5.4 sec.
Upcoming BMW launches for India in 2021
BMW India is working on making many launches in the coming months of 2021 with cars like the facelifted version of BMW 5 Series luxury sedan and X3 M40i performance SUV, however, BMW India had made several important launches by the start of 2021 with cars like BMW 6 Series GT facelift, 3 Series Gran Limousine, M340i and 2 Series Gran Coupe.
