The BMW 6 Series GT facelift has been launched and is priced at Rs 67.90-77.90 lakh ex-showroom, the faclifted version gets more premium upgrades compared to the outgoing model which was priced at Rs 65.90-77.00 lakh ex-showroom. The facelifted car along with refreshed design, gets more equipment and updated powertrain options.

2021 BMW 6 Series GT facelift Design
With the facelift the 6 Series GT gets re-worked design elements both front and rear which gives it a more sharper aggressive look. The front now gets a larger ‘kidney’ grille, slimmer LED headlights and taillights and reworked bumpers. With the facelift all the variants now comes standard with trapezoidal exhaust. BMW has still maintained some of its unique characteristic like the frameless windows and an active rear spoiler. Now there are more paint shades on offer for the customers to choose from. No design changes can be seen on the interior however it gets more technology and features.
2021 BMW 6 Series GT facelift Equipment on offer
The most noticeable new tech on the 6 Series GT cabin is the large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment that replaces the old smaller 10.25-inch unit and now comes with Android Auto which is in addition to Apple CarPlay like before. BMW has also added it, Reverse Parking Assistant for hands-free parking.
Other features and tech includes a 12.3″ digital instrument cluster, two 10.25-inch rear-seat entertainment screens, 360 parking camera, automatic parking assistant, automatic four-zone climate control, powered adjustable rear seats, large panoramic sunroof, LED headlights, and taillights with Laser light function offered as an option on higher-spec M Sport trim, air suspension and soft-close function for doors.
BMW 6 Series GT facelift Powertrain details
The new 6 Series GT facelift comer is three versions – the 630i petrol and 620d and 630d diesel. The 630i petrol comes with a 2.0L four-cylinder turbocharged unit that can produce a max output of 258HP and 400NM of torque. The changes come in the diesel unit as both the diesel now come with twin-turbocharging, however, the power outputs remain unchanged like before. The 2.0L four-cylinder diesel engine in the 620d makes 190HP and 400Nm of torque while the 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine in the 630d makes 265HP and 620Nm of torque. In terms of gearbox, an 8-speed torque converter automatic is offered as standard.
6 Series GT facelift rivals
The BMW 6 Series GT being larger than the 5 Series rivals up against the Mercedes-Benz E-class LWB (priced at Rs 63.60-80.90 lakh) which also got a facelift and launched recently. So the 6 Series GT is an important Car in BMW India Line-up and was brought even before the launch of the 5-series which will also get a facelift and launched soon enough. However, even if the 6 Series GT was removed from the global markets it’s still being continued in India, as in the international market shift towards SUV sales has impacted the Sedan sales.
