2021 Volvo S60 Engine and other features
Visually the new Volvo S60 is one of the most stunning-looking luxury Sedan with clean line, large grille, beautiful headlights with integrated LED DRLs and one of the most beautiful rear with those Led taillights. The Volvo S60 is already in sale on international markets for few years and was decided to launch way back in 2019 but here it is in its latest form for the Indian market. It looks similar in many ways to its larger sibling Volvo S90 sedan. the Volvo S60 sedan is based on Swedish manufacturer’s SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform and is available in only a single turbo-petrol engine option.
Talking about the engine its a 2.0-litre 4 cylinder turbo-petrol motor that makes 190 HP and 300Nm of torque which is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that powers the front wheels of the sedan. It can do 0-100 kph sprint in under 10s and like any other modern Volvo Cars has an electronically limited top speed of 180 kph which was opted for safety purposes.
For India, the 2021 Volvo S60 is offered in a single top-spec T4 Inscription variant. Some of the most highlighted features include are on the interior which gets premium leather upholstery, a large 9.0-inch tablet styled touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto air-con, four-zone climate control, wireless charging, reverse camera, Harman-Kardon sound system, large 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a panoramic sunroof just like any other luxury sedan should have.
Like expected from any Volvo cars, the S60 also gets loads of active and passive safety features and being the top-of-the-line T4 variant it gets radar-based adaptive cruise control, lane assist, speed alert, driver alert systems, side curtain airbags also emergency braking to name a few. With that said the Volvo S60 also achieved a 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash and safety test.
How the 2021 Volvo S60 goes up against its rivals?
The new Volvo S60 with its introductory price is more expensive than its most close rivals entry-level models like the recently launched BMW 2 Series, BMW 3 Series andAudi A4 facelift. But since the S60 is available in only top-spec variant it undercuts the top-spec versions of BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 Facelift also marginally cheaper than the likes of Mercedes C-class and Jaguar XE sedans. But the S60 for India is a fully imported car and not locally made which makes its pricing very aggressive compared to its rivals.
