The 2021 Skoda Octavia Sedan that was about to launch in May 2021 has been scheduled to launch for June 2021 as it was canceled earlier due to the rise in Covid cases in India. This announcement was made today by Zac Hollis, Brand Director – Sales, Service and Marketing, Skoda Auto India, in his Twitter handle. Let’s now get to know more about the new Skoda Octavia.

2021 Skoda Octavia Sedan Features
The 2021 Skoda Octavia is built on the updated VW’s MQB platform, and as such, this new executive sedan is larger than the previous model both in terms of length and width. But now it will come with only a single petrol engine option. This is the third-gen Octavia and as such gets, the latest Skoda design theme that is also seen on other new Skoda cars like the recently unveiled Fabia and the upcoming Kushaq SUV for India. This new Octavia Sedan however carries more design elements from the larger Superb sedan with similar elements like the sleek headlights, larger grille and clean lines along the body. Coming to the interior, the new Octavia Sedan now features a floating type centre touchscreen infotainment system that sits above the HVAC controls. It now also features a two-spoke steering wheel like on other new Skoda Models.
2021 Skoda Octavia Sedan powertrain details
As we mentioned above and previously the new Octavia is offered with only a single petrol engine – 2.0L TSI turbo-petrol engine making 190HP and it will come paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission as standard. However, no diesel engine will be offered like the outgoing model.
Skoda Octavia Rivals
Once launched, the new Skoda Octavia in India will have only one rival, the Hyundai Elantra sedan. As the 10th-gen Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla which were ruling these segment before have been discontinued in India.
Apart from the new Octavia, Skoda has also launched the new Superb sedan in India has planned to launch few more models like the Kushaq SUU, facelifted Kodiaq SUV in India this year. Skoda India is also working on a Rapid replacement and may unveil it by end of this year.
