The 2021 Mini Countryman facelift is launched in India and the price starts at Rs 39.50 lakh and goes up to Rs 43.40 lakh for John Cooper Works (all ex-showroom, India). The new Countryman is available in two variants – the Cooper S and the Cooper S John Cooper Works (JCW) inspired and has the option of only petrol engine. 2021 Mini Countryman changes
Talking about the changes on the new Countryman when compared with the outgoing model it gets exterior cosmetic changes along with an updated equipment list. The exterior changes on the SUV include a new front end design that includes a new bumper, tweaked grille and newly designed LED headlights. Coming to the back, again the bumper is new along with new LED taillights that gets the trademark Union Jack of MINI. While the John Cooper Works (JCW) Inspired variant gets a sportier design than the regular Countryman SUV. The package on the JCW variant includes sporty bumpers, rear spoiler and larger 18-inch wheels which are 17 inches on the standard Cooper S variant.
There is a choice of 5 exterior colours on the new Countryman– Sage Green, White Silver, Midnight Black, Chilli Red and Island Blue while the Island Blue shade is exclusive on the JCW Inspired variant only.
2021 Mini Countryman SUV Interior
Now talking about the interior of the new Mini Countryman SUV, there are minor cosmetic changes on the interior too along with a revised equipment list. The equipment list of the standard Countryman Cooper S trim includes LED headlights, fog lights, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, a rearview camera, electronic front seats with memory function for the driver, automatic dual-zone climate control, 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity. The safety kit includes airbags, stability control and traction control, ESC as standard to name a few.
The fullu loaded Cooper S John Cooper Works Inspired trim which is priced at Rs 43.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India) offers some additional goodies like a Harman Kardon sound system, 8.8-inch touchscreen with navigation built-in, head-up display(HUD), 5.5-inch fully digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto, keyless entry and exit, paddle shifters, rear adjustable seats and wireless phone charger. As a JCW variant, it gets some more JCW cosmetic elements like in the steering wheel, stainless steel covers on the pedals and a door sill.
Other interior element that is exclusive to the JCW Inspired trim is the use of either brown or grey leather for the upholstery which on the standard Countryman Copper S is black leather.
2021 Mini Countryman Powertrain
The 2021 Countryman SUV gets a petrol engine which is a 2.0-litre 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that makes 192HP and 280Nm of torque. The standard Coopers S gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox while the JCW Inspired variant gets a DCT ‘Sport’ gearbox. 0-100 Kph takes 7.5 seconds on the Countryman as claimed by Mini.
About the Mini Absolute Value pack
With the new Countryman SUV, Mini is also offering an Absolute Value pack till June 2021. The package offers interested customers to own the SUV for a time period between 3 to 4 years against EMI payments and also allow them to avail a comprehensive aftersales package including a service inclusive plus which covers the costs of replacement of selected wear and tear parts, repair, assured buyback, and even 20% discounts on some accessories.
Countryman SUV Rivals in India
The Countryman in India rivals against the likes of other small luxury SUVs like the BMW X1, Volvo XC40, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3. MINI is also working on the launch of new Facelift Mini Cooper hatchback which will be launched soon.
