Mini has launched the facelifted 2021 Mini 3-Door, Convertible, and John Cooper Works (JCW) in India today, and it’s now available with a petrol-only engine option. Prices starts Rs 38 Lakhs for the 3-Door model and goest up to Rs 35.5 Lakh for the JCW (ex-showroom). Mini 3-Door, Convertible, and JCW Hatchbacks new exterior styling updates

 

The 2021 facelifted Mini hatchbacks were introduced in the global markets earlier this year while a test mule of same was spied in India in the month of February. With the update, the hatchbacks get a revised front fascia that includes a larger new grille along with new bumpers in both front and rear. And like always the MINI JCW model gets more aggressive styling with large vents in the bumper, a black mesh-finished grille, red accents and stripes. The standard 2021 Mini 3-Door and Convertible feature a body-colored panel that splits the grille in middle, a roof-mounted spoiler and model-specific alloy wheels. The Mini 3-door and Convertible hatchbacks are available in Cooper S trims. All three models now get newly designed alloy wheels. While the 3-door and Convertible runs on 17-inch alloy wheels as standard the JCW can be had with optional larger 18-inch units.

 

Interior updates details

 

The 2021 Mini hatchback’s cabin layout remains mostly similar to the outgoing model but gets new colours for the upholstery and a few more kits. The most notable addition in the interior is now an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard across all the models. It gets Apple CarPlay as standard. There is also an optional 5.0-inch digital instrument display in the equipment list.

 

In terms of equipment, all three models come standard with auto LED headlights, automatic wipers, rear parking sensors, rear view camera, auto climate control, height adjustable front seats, ambient lighting and safety equipment includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, and stability control to name a few.

 

The JCW variant gets additional bits such as JCW Sport seats and steering wheel, cruise control and a Harman Kardon Hi-Fi sound system – which are optional on the standard hatchback and convertible.

 

There are a few more additional kits for buyers as an option and that include a panoramic sunroof, front parking sensors, hands-free parking, wireless phone charging, HUD, adaptive suspension and more.

 

2021 Mini 3-door, Convertible and JCW Hatchbacks Powertrain

 

All the three models are powered by the same 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. However, the unit on the 3-Door and Convertible which are available in Cooper S spec, makes 192HP and 280Nm of torque which comes paired is to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that drives the front wheels. While the one on the JCW makes a healthy 231HP and 320Nm of torque and comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

 

Mini Hatchbacks Availability and pricing 

 

The 2021 Mini hatchbacks are third product in their lineup in India this year. The British carmaker also launched the facelifted Countryman in India in March. The carmaker’s current India line-up consist of the updated hatchbacks and the Countryman. The 2021 Mini 3-door is priced at Rs 38 Lakh, Mini Convertible is priced at Rs 44 Lakh and the Mini John Cooper Works(JCW) is priced at Rs 45.5 Lakh (ex-showroom). All the three mpodels are completely built units and so the prices are high.
