India-Spec New Jeep Compass Facelift Unveiled

New Jeep Compass Facelift unveiled in India today, in this post we talk in detail about the New Jeep Compass like its new features, styling changes and other equipment and specs. Keep reading to know more.

 

The New Jeep Compass facelift has been unveiled in India today before its launch on 27 January 2021. The SUV restyled exterior elements with a new interior and more features than the outgoing model.

 

  • It gets a newly designed front facia with a restyled grille and full LED headlights.

 

  • Gets digital instrument console with large infotainment screen and 360-degree parking camera.

 

  • Engine options to remain the same as the outgoing model.

Jeep Compass facelift styling

 

Talking about the exterior styling, the Jeep Compass facelift gets newly designed all-LED headlights with LED DRLs integrated into them, a newly designed 7 slate grille with honeycomb inserts, a reworked front bumper with new fog light housings. There are also new set of alloy wheels but no changes can be seen on the sides and rear of the SUV and its fairly similar to the outgoing Compass.

 

The major changes that the new Jeep Compass Facelift get are in the interiors, it gets a new floating type large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment that takes up the center part and below that are the newly designed HVAC controls. On the top of the line variant Limited Plus that gets this large 10.1-inch screen will come with FCA’s UConnect 5 system along with integrated Amazon Alexa with wireless Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto. It is a connected system so can get OTA updates. The dashboard design is refreshed and gets double-stitched leather inserts along with some brushed aluminium trims for a premium feel. There is also a newly designed three-spoke steering wheel and a large fully-digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster.

 

Other features that the Jeep Compass facelift gets are connected car technology, fill LED headlights, double pan panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree parking camera, leather interiors, powered tailgate and many more. The top-spec Compass will also get an option for dual-tone leather seats but the lower variants will be offered with all-black leather upholstery.

 

Jeep Compass facelift engine and transmission.

 

The Compass facelift gets two engine options, one a 2.0-litre 4 cylinder diesel engine producing 173HP and 350Nm of torque and the other a 1.4-liter 4 cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 163HP and 250Nm of torque. These are the same engines that the outgoing model came with so no major updates in the engine department. Both Petrol and Diesel Compass facelift comes with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, also the Compass petrol get the option of a seven-speed DCT automatic and the diesel gets nine-speed torque converter automatic as transmission options. The Jeep Compass facelift with diesel engine also gets the option for a four-wheel-drive system with specific drive modes. A more off-road focused Trailhawk variant of the Jeep compass will be coming later.

 

Safety Features on the Compass

 

Jeep has given the new Compass facelift with updated safety features than before and standard safety features include ABS with EBD, traction control, ESC, hill-start assist, cruise control and ISOFIX child seat mounts while the top-spec variant Compass Limited Plus gets fully loaded with more features like brake assist and 6 airbags.

 

What does Compass Facelift rivals with?

 

Upon launch the Jeep Compass facelift will go up agaist the like of other SUVs like Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Koraq also to some extents with Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Tata Harrier just like the out going model did. Also a more off-road focused pf the Compass Facelift called the Trailhawk variant will be we offered later.

 

Recenty Jeep India or FCA India has announced that they are going to make an investment of around $250 million(Rs 1,827 crore) for production of 4 new SUVs in next two years and increase their product line-up for India. 

 

With that Jeep is also developing a new seven-seater SUV based on Compass for specially for Indian market that will be placed above Compass and go against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour also developing a sub 4m compact SUV. Jeep India has also announced their plan to locally assemble the Wrangler and Gran Cherokee which are slated to launch in next two to three years in India.
