2021 Hyundai Alcazar- what do we know?

The soon-to-be-launched Hyundai Alcazar SUV sits on a longer wheelbase with is exactly 150mm longer than the Creat that it is based on. The reason behind that is the addition of a third-row seat. The Alcazar will come with the option for both 6- and 7-seater configuration just like its rivals Mg Hector Plus and the new Tata Safari. The Alcazar will feature a more premium and modern interior than the Creta and we hope the facelifted Creta will later on get the same interior features. The Alcazar gets a dual-tone Cognac-brown and black interior and it looks premium.  Some of the interior features on the Hyundai Alcazar are- a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen with BlueLink Hyundai connected-car tech, first in class 8-speaker Bose premium sound system, voice-controlled panoramic sunroof, 8-way electronically adjustable driver seat, one-touch folding and tumble 2nd and 3rd-row seats, front row seatback table with retractable cup holder and smartphone holder, front sliding sunvisor, first in class rear window sunshade, 64 colours ambient lighting, Air purifier with AQI display and more. Some more exterior features like puddle lamps with Hyundai logo, side footstep are also available.

2021 Hyundai Alcazar Powertrain details

In terms of powertrain, the Hyundai Alcazar will get the option of both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol unit is the 2.0-L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated MPi engine making 159HP at 6500 RPM and 191 Nm at 4500 RPM and the diesel unit is the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged CRDi unit making 115HP at 4000 RPM and 250 Nm torque between 1500-2750 RPM. It will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission that can be seen on Creta. There will also be an option for and 6-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai says the petrol version with the manual transmission can go from 0–100 kph in 9.5 seconds which is really impressive for a big car like this. The Alcazar will also feature 3 drive modes namely- Eco, Comfort and Sport and also comes with traction control modes- Snow, Sand and Mud for better driving on road and also to handle some mild off-road and snow conditions.

With the opening of bookings, the 2021 Hyundai Alcazar will be launched soon and once launched it will rival against other 3 row SUVs like the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
