The Jaguar E-Type’s 60th Anniversary Celebrated by unveiling Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition.

The Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition was unveiled as a homage to the iconic Jaguar E-Type sportscar to celebrate its 60th Anniversary.

  • Gets special cosmetic upgrades over the Standard Jaguar F-Type R Supercar.

  • It gets the same drivetrain as the F-Type R which is a 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine.

  • Only a limited number of 60 units of F-Type 60 Heritage Edition will be produced.

  • It will cost more than the standard Jaguar F-Type.

  • To available in both coupé and convertible body style.

Jaguar is going to make only 60 examples of the F-Type Heritage 60 Edition and it will be sold globally. It will be hand-finished by Personalisation Experts of Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operation (SVO) personalisation department for a Bespoke work and will be made in both Coupé and Convertible body styles.

Engine on offer

The Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition engine is the same unit that powers the F-Type R and which means its the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine good for making 575 HP and 700 NM of torque. Its an AWD car so the power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. With that said the Heritage 60 Edition performance figures are similar to F-Type R and i.e it will take 3.5 seconds for a 0-100kph sprint and 300kph limited top speed.

The Exterior design

Overall there are no external changes made in the design and shape of the Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition if we compare it to the F-type R. The only external visual change is the use of solid Sherwood Green paintwork – this is the same type of paint scheme used by Jaguar for the original E-Type sports car and hasn’t been offered on any car since 1960 until now.

Some more exterior visual tweaks are heritage-inspired gloss black and chrome trim accents, diamond cut forged lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels finished in gloss black and black brake calipers.

The Interior Design

The Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition also gets a revised Interior. The cabin features a new leather interior with two options to choose from- a two-tone Caraway and Ebony Windsor leather. The headrests gets embossed E-Type 60th logos. There’s also an aluminium console inspired by the 60s E-Type’s rearview mirror casing, some badges, a commissioning plaque and special mats for the special 60s package that the car has to offer.

The Production of Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition

A total of only 60 examples will be made which will consist of both Coupé and Convertible body styles. Each car will be made in Jaguar Land Rover’s Castle Bromwich manufacturing facility and then hand finished by SV Bespoke at Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations in Warwickshire.

There is also a plan to build six matched pairs of restored 3.8-litre E-Type cars by Jaguar Classic Operation. These cars will be based on the original prototype cars from the 60s with 77RW and 9600HP nameplates also including the one original car that was driven from Coventry to Geneva for a launch event at the Swiss City motor show in 1961.

Will it come to India?

Jaguar Cars India launched the F-Type facelift few months back and its prices starts at Rs 95.12 lakh for the P300 Coupé variant and goes all the way up to Rs 2.42 crore (ex-showroom, India) for the supercharged V8 powered F-Type R convertible variant.

The Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition is made available globally (Except China) and will be sold to Indian buyers. It will cost more than the Regular F-Type R for all the added 60s charm.

There are also other Jaguar models on offer in India. These include the Jaguar XE and XF sedans also the F-Pace SUV. The all-electric Jaguar I-Pace SUV will also be launched in India by 2021, bookings for the model has already started.
