Skoda has updated the Superb Sedan for 2021 and has launched it in India

 

The 2021 Skoda Superb sedan is launched in India at a price of Rs 31.99 lakh for the Sportline and Rs 34.99 lakh for the Laurin and Klement (L&K) variant Ex-showroom, India. The updates have brought features like smartphone connectivity and many more but that comes with a price hike ranging from Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh than the outgoing model.

  • Gets an updated infotainment system that now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

2021 Skoda Superb New Features

 

One of the finest sedans by Czech carmaker, the Skoda Superb saw a lot of updates for the Indian Market. With the 2021 Superb, Skoda has again updated the car but the changes are mostly in terms of updated equipment like connectivity features and the most noticeable cosmetic change are new steering wheels in both Sportline and Laurin and Klement Variants.

 

Now talking about changes in the 2021 Skoda Superb, the most noticeable change on the outside are the newly designed adaptive LED headlights with integrated DRLs, besides that there is no major change on the outside. On the interior, the virtual cockpit now has a large digital instrument cluster which is now standard across both the variants while earlier it was only available on the Superb Sportline, also the 8.0-inch Amundsen touchscreen infotainment system is updated with a new UI and now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity along with SmartLink connectivity features. There is also an inclusion of a wireless charging pad in the space front of the gear lever. Another noticeable cosmetic change is the Sportline variant gets a flat-bottom steering wheel while the Laurin & Klement Variant gets a two-spoke steering wheel. Other creature comforts like 3-zone climate control, ambient lighting, high-quality leather interior, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry and exit, start/stop system ambient lighting, 8 airbags, headlight washers are standard across both the variants. Skoda has loaded the 2021 Superb with every possible interior and exterior feature they could.

 

Additionally, the top-spec fully loaded Laurin and Klement variant of the Superb also gets a 360-degree camera and auto parking feature over other standard features.

 

Engine and gearbox

 

In terms of engine there are no changes made for the 2021 Skoda Superb. Like the outgoing model it come with a 2.0-litre 4 cylinder turbo-petrol TSI unit making 190 HP. Power from the engine goes to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox which only option available.

 

Pricing and Rivals

The 2021 Skoda Superb starts at Rs 31.99 Lakh for the Sportline varaint and goes upto Rs 34.99 Lakh (Both Ex-showroom) for fully loaded Laurin and Klement variant. Talking about rivals the Skoda Superb’s direct rival is Toyota Camry Hybrid which is priced at RS 39.41 Lakh.

 

Skoda has also planned for more launches for 2021 in India and increse thier product line-up. They are going to introduce the Kodiaq Flagship SUV again in India with petrol engine only. But the most important launch of the year will be the Kushaq mid-size SUV teased few days back which will be launched around middle of this year. Skoda is also working on a all-new mid-sized sedan to be introduced by end of 2021 and along with that they are preparing to launch the all-new Skoda Octavia.
