The Maruti Suzuki Swift for 2021 got a facelift and was launched a few days back. With the update, Swift now got some cosmetic updates, dual-tone paint options, new features and the major update is the addition of a 90 HP naturally aspirated petrol engine. The price has also gone up by some margin and now the Swift starts at Rs 5.73 lakh and is Rs15,000 to Rs24,000 costlier than the outgoing model. With that said now let’s take a look at the variants and what they have to offer.

  • 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels
  • Dual-tone colour option
  • Coloured MID for the instrument cluster
  • Reverse parking camera
  • Cruise control function
  • Auto folding and opening ORVMs

 

 

As mentioned above the biggest change or update that comes with the Swift facelift is the 1.2L petrol engine, its a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder motor that gets the DualJet technology. This engine was introduced in the Dzire last year and it has 7HO more than the outgoing engine which had only 83HP, however, the torque output remains the same as 113NM. Gearbox options also remain the same with the option to choose between a 5-speed manual as standard and a 5-speed AMT unit. The new engine also comes with start-stop technology that will make it more fuel-efficient.

 

Maruti Swift Rivals

 

The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift is a B-segment hatchback and its rivals against the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios priced between Rs 5.19-7.87 lakh and the Ford Figo which is priced between Rs 5.64-7.09 lakh.
